I wear the White Feather because:

Nobody is perfect. Not allowing yourself to make mistakes, means not allowing yourself to do anything. So it's ok to try and fail, it's ok to mistaken at times.
The most important thing about making mistakes, is being able to take responsibility for it. To say you did wrong and apologize, and learn a lesson from it. This is very different from being guilty. Guilt paralizes us, and focuses on the past which can't be changed after all. Responsibility on the other hand focuses on the future, about what I can do to prevent it from happening again, and what I can do to repair any damage.
Taking responsibility also means that I actively invite others to criticise me and to discuss my words and actions with me, and it forces me to listen to them and consider if they are right.
Responsibility is the price of freedom.
Elbert Hubbard
To say you have no choice is to relieve yourself of responsibility.
